ALUMNI RATING

While the on location photo shoots were the best, the fun was amplified with a variety of good restaurants (and chocolate cake!), great hotels, and outstanding company.

Overall, Vieri and Zeynep orchestrated an extremely well planned, world’s best workshop experience!

ICELAND SNAEFELLSNESS | RESIDENCY

A LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHER'S DREAM

I have been exploring and photographing Iceland in winter for nearly ten years now, and my love for it just keeps growing. From the spectacular Icelandic landscapes to the moody winter weather, from the incredible skies to the powerful oceans, in over 15 years of landscape photography Iceland is one of the destinations I felt most deeply connected with. Since our first trip there, I returned multiple times every year, always in winter, for an innumerable number of visits between explorations, personal work and Workshops. In a country where everything is a landscape photographer’s dream, the Snaefellsness peninsula, located in the south-west of Iceland, stands out with its powerful, majestic and iconic landscapes and the variety of hidden, inspiring photographic opportunities it offers. Snaefellsness is possibly my favourite region in Iceland to photograph, and I can’t wait to share its beauty with you!

DESIGNING THE RESIDENCY

Designing your Iceland Snaefellsness Residency, leveraging on over a decade of experience leading more than 110 Workshops, 13 of which in Iceland so far, I created a completely new, “vertical” Workshop concept covering everything you will need to know, from photographing iconic locations in a personal way to finding and developing your own, from working in the field to editing and processing your photographs, to creating a Portfolio.

All our years of experience and exploration of the spectacular Snaefellsness peninsula will make sure that we will have more locations on Snaefellsness than any other Workshop, locations we will have the time to revisit as much as needed to help you create a strong, original Portfolio showcasing your vision of these stunning Icelandic landscapes in the best possible way.

Never changing hotel will give us the opportunity to do advanced post-processing sessions every day and edit your photographs, whether digital or film, to get the most of their potential while staying true to your vision, and I will offer you unique insights on how I create my personal work, develop and edit it.

Designed to be the ultimate, “vertical” Workshop for those wanting to go deep into understanding, interpreting and bringing these Icelandic spectacular and dramatic landscapes of to life, your Iceland Snaefellsness Residency will be a truly unparalleled photographic and learning experience!

THE LOCATIONS

OVER 30 INSPIRING LOCATIONS | UNIQUE RESIDENCY FEATURES

During our 8 days of Iceland Snaefellsness Residency Workshop we will have over 25 locations available for you between the iconic, unmissable ones such as Kirkjufellsfoss, Gatklettur, Londrangar and more, and my own secret ones that almost nobody knows about, all selected both for their inspiring power and for their artistic and technical photographic challenges.

During our Snaefellsness Residency Workshop we will have ample opportunities to revisit locations as many times as needed to maximise your learning opportunities. Unique to our Residencies, I will also share with you my insight on developing new locations!

ICELAND SNAEFELLSNESS | NO CROWDS + YOUR VISION

Whether we will photograph iconic locations or less explored ones, you will never go home with the same images as everyone else. Thanks to our knowledge of the locations, my artistic and technical tutoring and our limited attendance of just 3 people, during our Workshop I will keep you away from the crowds and help you bring your vision to life in the most effective way.

DETAILED LOCATION LIST

To make the most out of your time with us, I always select our shooting locations each day according to that day’s weather. PHOTOGRAPHIC LEVEL & TUTORING

PHOTOGRAPHIC LEVEL

All our Workshops are open to everyone, from beginners to professionals. No matter what your level is, thanks to our trademark maximum attendance of 3 people during our Workshops you will always have enough 1-1 time with me to make the most out of your experience.

TUTORING PHILOSOPHY

My unique tutoring style is the result of over 30 years of experience teaching in 1-1 and group settings. As a tutor, I strongly believe in fostering individuality, in helping you developing your style rather than imposing you mine and in sharing everything I know without holding anything back.

I believe that helping you face and solve together as many artistic and technical photographic challenges as possible during our Workshop is the most effective way to help you strengthen your technique and your vision both to make the most out of your time with us and, most importantly, to help you continue your growth when you are back home working without a tutor.

IMAGE REVIEW & PORTFOLIO SELECTION

Unique to our Workshops, our trademark image reviews sessions are a fundamental moment to share with you my technical and artistic tips to improve the images you took, to offer you pointers for our next sessions in the field and to help you choose the best images for your Portfolio.

INSIGHT ON MY WORK | UNIQUE RESIDENCY FEATURES

Photography, as pretty much all arts and crafts, is best learned by doing, with a tutor you trust. While many instructors out there are unwilling to show people how they work when they are alone, during our Residencies you will get unique access and insight to the way I work, both in and out of the field.

POST-PROCESSING | UNIQUE RESIDENCY FEATURES

In the digital era, post-processing is a fundamental and extremely powerful step of the image creation process. During our Residency Workshop, we will do post-processing every day, and I will walk you through my post-processing workflow, demonstrating clearly with the help of a Wacom screen all the tools, basic and advanced, that I use to go from shooting to a classy, powerful and striking image in a few simple steps.

If you are a black & white film photographer, uniquely to our Residency Workshops you will have the unique opportunity to develop your films, digitise and edit them together.

OUR ALUMNI SAY IT BEST!

Below you will find one random Testimonial together with some backstage images from our regular, non-Residency Iceland Photography Workshops. Check out our ICELAND WORKSHOP REPORT to read all about our 13 previous non-Residency Workshops there and get inspired by our Alumni's Testimonials and photographs!

The morning and evening photo shoots were carefully planned and brought us to stunning and dynamic field locations. Vieri’s expertise with each location, camera settings, and composition options positioned all of us for success. Zeynep was equally amazing, assisting on every shoot with set up, filters, camera questions, and more!
